need help (check engine light)
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 5:10 PM
I have an aem intake on my car and my check engine light has been on pretty much since I have has it on. I took my car up to auto zone to do a check engine light test and they said I had a bad intake sensor it wasn't reading right ok so I bought one. I put the new sensor on unplugged my battery let it sit for a while and hope it reset itself. the light came on again and I took it back up to auto zone for another test and now they think my intake is bad. has anyone had this problem before how can I get this fixed?

The wires at the pigtail for the intake air temp senor tend to break. check those two wires to see if they have broken. If so, get a new pigtail and replace it. Your AEM intake should not cause the check engine light.

You can also just replace the wiring from the sensor to the main harness with wire of a similar guage, make sure you soldier and heat shrink the connections though, cost of supplies = $.50 if you have a soldiering gun already. Intakes don't cause CEL's on their own.
