Another Bosch Plug-Created Problem

I know it's been mentioned many times in the forums, but if you have rough/erratic idle & haven't looked at the plugs, start there....the paperwork I got with my car showed the plugs were changed less than 20k km before I bought the car. After driving for a couple of weeks this spring, a shake/rough idle started. Pulled the plugs (Bosch), checked the gap, which was OK, plugs looked fine, but I replaced 'em anyway. Sure enough, smooth idle & not a glich since.

Something about those plugs doesn't like the 2.4...always start with the simple things!

Its not just the 2.4, they don't do good in any engine

Bosch transferred much of their manufacturing to Poland...

And ACs are now made by NGK in Japan...

It's hard for me to believe, but I've found the best plugs are now made in China...

And, I won't mention any brand names, I don't want to get slammed...

I've had the same results, with 2 sets of Botched Platinums, horrible plugs.

John, Bosch's quality for many automotive parts began to deteriorate just as soon as the
"Poland thing" happened....I'm not familiar with exact details, and their spark plugs may
be entirely made in Germany, some components may be made in Poland...Anyway,
Bosch messed up, somehow...

NGK took over the AC sparkplug manufacturing when the AC-Delphi plant in Flint
closed in late 2005 or 2006....I understand GM pays NGK about $1.00 per plug less
than the cost for when AC-Delphi was in production...

My last set of AC plugs didn't show any markings on plugs or boxes as
to where they were made....

It's all very confusing, and I stand by my statement, the best are now made
in China...

You'll have to dig to find out the excellent brands now coming from China...

If I named any names it would start an argument...
