Okay......so I have this big problem. Here's the situation. Every so often, I go to start my car and I get nothing (doesn't try to turn over or anything). All the lights on the dash work, the radio, headlights, you name it. Its absolutely NOT the battery. Sometimes what will happen is I'll drive to a gas station, fill up, go to start the car after filling and its dead. I turn the key and hold it and theres absolutely NOTHING. It seems to do it most often when its cold outside. I had the battery, alternator, and starter tested and everything is supposedly fine.
This happened to me TWICE today. I left it today for about 3 hours, came back to the car, and it started right up. Drove it home right after, turned it off. Tryed starting it RIGHT after turning it off, and its dead again. Does anyone know why this is happening? It's made me miss work and school far too many times and I'm failing school and might be fired from work all because of this. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of car? (Your registry is totally blank... totally useless

)
Does it even make a clicking sound when you try to start it? Or is it totally silent? Can you hear the fuel pump priming, then shut off after ~3 seconds?
I don't hear a clicking sound when I try to start it. I do hear the fuel pump priming and then shut off though.
Thanks for helping Lenko, I seriously really appreciate it.
I would say youre igintion switch is dieing.
Could be the switch... could be the ignition recall relay with a bad connection or corrosion. I still don't know what kind of car tho!!
Assuming it's a 2.4L from your other posts tho... it's gotta be a 96-02 car... so I'll assume it's had the recall relay put on the front rad support (it's a little gray or black box, with a screw thru the metal tab to hold it to the rail). If that's not clicking, then it's not getting power from the ignition switch.
Or... if there's no recall relay... your car probably needs one!
It's an 2002 z24, sorry! Is there any reason why it only does this when its really cold outside?
Hmm... so either it's a cold start problem.... which I do have a diagnosis for somewhere here.... or it's the starter recall relay with some water in it, which is causing it. It's probably not the switch if it's only when cold.
