I went to get an alinment on my car and the stealership said i needed a front right Camber bolt and the rear needed shims. they wanted 200 for a camber kit and the shims plus labor and tax, yea i told them to stick it. I know damn well that a Camber kit is 20 bucks for both sides at Autozone. So now im goin to do the chamber kit myself but my Haynes manual doesn't list it. how do you change the Camber bolts and where excatly are they?
so its the bottom bolt? If i replace this will i be able to drive the car like 20 mins away to get a alinment or will the car be to far out of alinmente to even attempt to drve it?
The book just says "Elongate the hole for the bottom bolt and this will allow the camber to be adjusted".
Basically, with the strut to knuckle bolts and nuts just slack enough to allow movement, the top of the wheel can be pulled outwards or pushed inwards until the camber is correct--then the bolts are torqued up correctly (133 lbs/ft for the '93)

I am guessing that this bolt kit is a replacement cam shaped bolt (as in the link above)---i.e. turn the bolt and it adjusts the camber ---then torque the NUT to spec, holding the bolt still, so camber doesn't alter.
You won.t have to elongate the hole with these bolts.
I would take the Camber kit to the tire shop and ask them nicely if they could fit it and adjust. They would have to either :-
1. Remove the existing bolt, elongate the hole, refit existing bolt, set camber and torque up.---or
2.Remove existing bolt,fit cam kit bolt,set camber and torque up---
2. is quicker than 1. and easier. So you will have saved them some time and trouble.

well i guess ill give them a call tomorrow and see what they say cuz im just gonna replace the bolts (camber bolt). Basicly im or they're gonna have to remove the old camber bolts and replace them
Truthfully I think there full of BS your camber is probably fine, you should ask them what its at. Anywho if your intersted I've got a set of used ingalls fastcam bolts you can have for $5.00 shipped. You replace the lower bolt with it then turn the bolt till you get the camber you want.
The reason there charging you so much is because the rear camber from what I've heard isn't fun, but you can get the shims from:
Rear shims they have 2 options and i don't know the difference so you'd have to call them.
I'll be ordering a set of these to run 1/2 a degree of camber in the rear this year for autocross using these.
