I was driving home last night and I was doing about 70 when my car popped out of gear I tried to put it back into 5th and it would just grind. about 12 miles down the road I was able to get it back into 5th. I stopped at a rest stop and sat there for about 30 minutes. I started back down the road and I worked fine so I was like ok. About 15 miles down the road it did the same thing. It works fine for a little while then it doesnt. Help!!!!!!!!!!someone said to check the tranny fluid but would the fluid level effect a 5spd like this

Have you installed a short shifter or otherwise mucked around with the shifter assembly?

could be a bad synchro

wen i rebuilt my trranny, i accidentally instaled trhe 5th gear synchro upside down and it wouldnt stay in gear without holding it. so ur syncho might be worn
