Car: Chevrolet Cavalier 1998 2.2L with 291080 km (near 180000 miles)
Driver headlight is OEM from 1998,
Passenger headlight is a replacement headlight from 2001 (car was backed up into)
Both headlight are well aligned.
Problem: Basicly , they don't lit up much of the road anymore . Keep in mind the car has a lot of highway mileage.
Basicly, what I'm looking for are recommendations. to fond of aftermarket high wattage bulb.
I'm leaning more toward restoring the oem headlight or upgrading the hole headlight assembly with some china made aftermarket stuff.
Are those china stuff decent or aren't woth a penny ?
You guys have any tips ?
Also looking at adding fog lights but no real idea where to mount them on a stock Z22 bumper. (to get a clean look)
Upgrading to a Z24 front bumper or a 3rd gen front end isn't really an option since the car has so much mileage and isn't worth a lot of money overall.
Oh, btw, I did use search
I'm a moderator on a french car forum.
Another note: my summer car has Genuine German E-odes (ECE) headlight. Those thing lit up the road #1, with dealer H7 bulb
get a set of sylvania silverstars. I love mine
also there is no such thing as a Z22
You should see my car tags then
Chevriolet Cavalier Z22 2.2L
Even my insurance paper state it's a Z22 model.
Must be a canadian thing.
its a canadian thing.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn
Have you checked the grounds/earths for the headlights?
High resistance there would reduce the light output and you did say you have 291080 km!
Maybe a clean of these points would improve the light output
Alont
Mine have been getting dull as well, been thinking of polishing them before I buy brighter lights.
Got any pictures of the 98 & 01 headlights installed?
Id love to see it- ya know, for research or something...
Update.
As stated by alont; checked the voltage and ground. No resistance, no corossion and voltage is great.
Got a set of GE Nighthawk from a friend (never used), it slightly more white, slight improvement on the road but nowhere what I'd like. I even went behind the local tim horton to check the alignement and it's fine.
Next step will be to polish the headlight themselves and probably add a set of fog light using H3 bulbs.
