Alrighty then...as always, seems I have more trouble with the Cav again!
2002 Cavy, 2.2 Ecotec with GMPP SC.
I started throwing codes a few days ago and the first 2 were P0300 codes for a randum misfire. Today, she throws a P0302 for misfire in cylinder #2.
I've ran a data logger and I'm getting a lot of advance on my timing...+30 or so at worse case but it jumps from 0 to +30 most of the time and hangs out maybe around +17 to +22.
Running through the Helms manual it seems I have one of two problems. One, my engine coolant temp sensor is bad or two, I have a bod coil pack (again!). (any know of a performance pack for these cars?)
Now I do run hot...upwards of 217 today while data logging so I can see the ECT being bad and may be the cause of this but the car sure acts like it's the coil pack again as it's doing almost the same thing as last winter. Running hotter than normal will cause fuel to be dump/pulled and it causes a lean condition or rich and therefore misfires (according to the book anyway!)
So, anyone out there with more knowledge than me or have other thoughts or suggestions speak up! I'm going to order both the ECT and the coil pack to make sure but anyone else got thoughts on this or am I on the right track here?
Also...anyone have info on a crankshaft position sensor? I've looked online at a few places and I can't locate one. As this too could be my problem but it's an outside chance/shot.
Again, thanks for reading and any help you can provide would be great.
Oh yeah....all of this started (at least the codes not the running hot problem) after I installed the light weight crank pulley. Same size as OEM, just lighter. Could my belt be slipping or something and cause this?

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
