Problems 200 cavalier

So my cavy finally turns over to 88000 miles. And now some problems have been starting. I didnt notice anything until about a week ago. WHen i was rollin down the highway and the cruise just clicked off. I was like WTF?? well i turned it back on and kept going. Well i get down to college, and now it just turns over. it will start after ahile. But still. One time the little screen where it says the milage said ERROR. Again WTF? And now it will turn over. Start sometimes. And the dash gauges will click when the key goes to on, not start, but on. And they will click and jump way up and back down again? WTF? if anyone has ANY IDEA..let me know.

Check the battery, it might be low or have a bad cell so it won't charge up all the way any more.

i can sometimes hear the fuel pump run when i turn the key on. and sometimes not. I was thinking it could be the fuel pump itself, or the fuel pump relay?

The pump won't always come on if you put the key to on-off-on too fast.

Maybe therein lies your problem. Check the battery connections and the ground connection to the body. Sounds like something could be loose or corroded.
