I own a 98 Z-24 with manual trans. It has 150,000 miles on it and has been a great little car. For the past few weeks I have noticed a problem developing. As I am driving and need to slow down for any reason and a attempt to get back up to speed, the car hesitates badly, as if it were going to die, and bucks a couple of times and suddenly begins to accelerate. I have also now noticed this same bucking reaction happening when I deaccelerate from highway speed occassionally. I have replaced the fuel filter, cam position sensor, coil packs, spark plugs and plug boots, air filter, and a few months ago replaced the cat. All to no avail! Another odd thing, is that it accelerates just fine from a dead stop, and also when I shift to a lower gear and it has never throw any codes. It also idles just fine. Any ideas out there?
the coil pack or idi cover thingy haha i d k how to xplain it
Thanx Charles
Could try using some SeaFoam, That might help youre car run better.
