Ok if there are no cutoff switches on a '98 2.4 because it is a variable displacement compressor, then what can keep the compressor clutch from locking? PLEASE HELP!!! I have been reading A/C threads for three days.
Low fluid level, bad clutch, bad wire connections....
Answer to my own question: I pulled the A/C relay under the hood and inspected the diagram on the relay, then jumped the two points necessary and the compressor kicked on. Got another relay at Autozone for $13 and added about 20 oz. of R134A and now it owrks pretty good. Anybody know exactly how much a 2.4 system holds? I may have slightly overfilled....
says right on the rad. cover doesnt it like 1.5lb?
