Here's the scenario. My wife is driving home from work the other night through a huge rainstorm. She follows another car through a large puddle and gets through OK. We have a 97 Cavy 2.2 with 4/spd auto.
Immediately after this, the car starts to hesitate (or bog) anytime you accelerate hard. If you accelerate slowly (like in heavy traffic), no apparent problem.
I can't imagine this is fuel related (I just put in a fresh tank of gas), and the plugs and wires are about a year-15 months old. The CEL is on, but is related to the carbon canister, not anything electrical.
I'm guessing coil packs? (They're 9 years old, maybe some water got up in there and #$% it up?)
Or maybe something to do with the ignition trigger?

I didn't think of that, but this happened last Thursday.
I would think it would have dried out by now. I will look at it tonight, tho.
