Annoying steering noise from frontend

Hey there,

Whenever I turn the wheel either at a stop or when going slowly, I get this groaning/creaking and slight popping/knocking sound from the front suspension. Sounds like it's coming from there anyway.
When I've picked up some speed the sound goes away, or maybe it's just that I don't turn the wheel far enough. I mostly hear it when parking or at intersections. It doesn't seem to affect the way the car drives at all.

Powersteering fluid is full. I thought I found some post on here saying it was some factory defect with the j-body...But can't find it now...

Appreciate any help...

Well Sya Ped, Youre power rack & pinion will make a little noise when turn hard, Its usually caused by the pressure of the fluid being forced into rack arms, Then pushed back to the power sterring pump. Now if when youre turning and youre getting a screeching sound thats could been youre power steering is wornout, Or you got a worn drive belt. If youre rack and pinion is leaking fluid its needing replaced. Well you could do is get the front suspension a grease job that may correct youre squeeking problems. Then after taking care of that and then if the problem arises still then you may have to trouble shoot other steering parts.

Good Luck

mine does the same thing as well because the cars suspension has been altered. The upper strut mounts meeting the spring at a differnt angle causing it to pop. check out your mounts and suggestion from the post
