Actron Scanners & Code readers.

Hey All,

After 3 months of waiting for the Canadian distributors ( For 2 different parts suppliers. ) to get of their Aes and deliver my order for an OTC ( Model 3407 ) scanner, I have ( Cancelled the order ) decided to buy an Actron CP9175 when we visit my sister & bf in Harrisburg PA on the first week of July.

As it turns out, the Actron delivers with all the same features as the OTC for less money. ( OTC- $249 CAD, Actron - & $169 USD. )

Does anyone out there have an Actron? Are you happy with it?

I have the Actron CP9035 and have had it for 5 years. Works well. It came with a very informative manual. It works on all OBD II compliant vehicles. It also allows you to erase diagnostic codes. Despite what some people believe, you cannot erase OBD II diagnostic codes by disconnecting the battery. The codes are stored in the vehicle's computer in a non-volatile memory. In other words, they are kept there even if the power goes off.

I just sent back the CP9150. I really didnt like it for 1 reason or another. I than went and bought an Auto XRay EZ Scan 5000. It gives me a few more options...

I have an Actron, a couple of different cartridges & cables for OBD I and II. Very happy with it, invaluable for diagnosis and love the real time data display. I usually set it up for what sensors i want to look at with the custom data display, watch those while i'm driving and see what it's doing. Works great for the $150.
