Just wondering, I was looking at the listings for the auto auction near me for about 2 weeks from now. They're going to be auctioning a 1996 Sunfire, 5 speed, with about 143,000 miles on it. Now I know the OHV is said to be a dependable engine - I know a lot depends on past maintenance and driving habits, but with good maintenance from here on out, assuming it's in decent shape now, are there any major issues that people know of with these engines with those kind of miles? I'd guess at that point it's probably not on the original clutch any more, otherwise that thing could be pretty well shot. I'd probably change the spark plugs and wires, and buy a cheap eBay intake for it so it'd have new plugs, wires, and air filter.

This would be for a 2nd car, NOT as a car to mod. Considering the year and mileage, I'm guessing that it might be able to be had pretty cheap at auction, and might not be a bad pickup...
