hey everybody,
i'm having a serious problem with my 96 Z24, its missing really bad and i don't know what to do, i've replaced the coilpack housing, the coilpacks, the ignition module and the TPS, and it still misses. has anyone ever had this problem before? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you describe missing?? It won´t start?
For it to fire you need air, fuel, compression, and spark. Also is this at idle, normal running, dawging it, or all of the above.
I would say a compression test would be a good start
/\ /\ Thinking the same thing, but didn't want to jump to conclusions about a headgasket or rings. The timing chains arent infallable either. If the tensioner aint tensioning or jumped a tooth........
don't jump to conclusion. Change the boots and the plugs first.

thanks guys also i ohmed out the injectors they're fine and fuel press. at idle is 42 psi, i think ill replace the plugs and "wires" and do a compression test.

I had same problem however your first choice of action was my last due to cost of parts. I compression tested mine, did a fuel pressure test, changed plugs and boots and priced up some computers. mine was either icm or coilpack... i changed them both together and it worked fine.
i talked to my fiance he says to check the computer plug in the right front wheel well. I guess they are known to corrode there.
i have come to relized the coil housings on the 2.4 are crap and half the people i spoke with on rough idles and missfires turned out to be coil housings
