Ya, i'm just wandering cause my 99 z24 does'nt have this trunk popper. sucks cause everytime i want 2 put something on my trunk i need 2 use my 1 & only key. Don't u guys wish we had trunk poppeeeeerrrrrrrr.
Yes, but it was an option.
You can do one of 2 things -- get an electric or get a manual trunk release from a J in a junkyard.
I don't know about the Cavaliers made for Canada, but the ones for the US all had remote trunk releases. As Kardain stated, check for the parts in a junkyard and install it yourself.

lol in 2002 only options on the z24 was moon roof and automatic. tunk release both on the dash and on keyless entery remote are standard

Rob, Yea same on my 98, but I installed a momentary button under the dash tied to 12V and to the solenoid for the trunk release and now I can open mine up whenever I want to. Only thing to remember is not to hit the switch when you are going down the freeway at 65 or you'll empty out your trunk real quick. That could be a good thing under certain circumstances.

wow do u not have the little lever on the left side of the seat that is to pop your trunk? or do you just like to do alot of little work just to push a button?
Brandon...There is no manual release on my 98Z. All it had was the keyfob button to open the trunk or use the keylock. I don't know about your Z, but I thought it was stupid to only have the keyfob button to open the trunk. It isn't hard or a lot of work just to push a button. Alot easier than having to shut the car off to use the keyfob to open the trunk when the wife has to put stuff in the trunk when I pick her up.

thats pretty damn odd, is it a possibility that the car had new carpet put in or something else where the lever is hidden underneath or something else? Both of my 96's have it and any other cav ive seen has it too
Nope. I bought it brand new from the dealership that way. I looked under the carpt when I bought it and didn't see any lever. I had a 95 at the time and it had a lever on the side. The 98Z didn't.

i dont have a trunk release lever either(97 Z24)... and THAT pisses me off, lol.
but yea, go to a junkyard and look for one off of any cavalier(95+) and then u gotta og to GM and get a remote. i dunno how well this works if you dont have power locks, but then again i dunno what exactly what you have. so yea, either do that, or go get a copy of your key made, and deal with having to use it... thats what i do. it SUCKS... my remote doesnt unlock the doors anymore, so i dont bother carrying it.. time to go to gm and get a new one... OOO or ebay

i need to do this aswell, my 97 doesnt have a cable and I shaved the lock off HAHA... lets just hope my remote keeps on working. my fiance has been searching the junk yard just been unlucky so far.
my 97 z24 has a manual release on the floor and no key fob...my 98 z24 has the release on the key fob and no electric or manual release inside the car anywhere.
