ok i was driveing when my battery light came on in my 95 z24.i drove to advance and had the battery tested they say it has charge and that it is the alternator.i called my mechanic and he said the same thing when i told him that the light came on.has any body had there battery light come on and was it the alternator.how hard is it to change the alternator.

this happened in my old 96 z24. the battery light came on, then 2 days later the car died going down the road. i pulled off and borrowed my parents car to run to town and get an alternator. it was about 130$.

it took me about 2 hours to get the old one out (i had never done it before and i was kinda new to this engine at the time) and about 30 minutes to put in.

its not hard. you can do it yourself. if the battery is good then it has to be the alternator. and you might not have much more time on it.
