hey there guys and gals,
two questions,
1) i have 2000 cavalier 2.2 that has no compression, well some but not a lot. pulled the motor and checked the timing chain and to my surprise it is still good (had earlier issues with it) here's another kicker though. pulled my head off and noticed on my pistion and valve what looked like a bb was stuck in there because both have damage to them. they look like the dimples on a golf ball. only one set though. looked at my gasket and it had no tears or damage and nothing seemed to fall when we removed it. any ideas?
2) i also have a 1996 mazda miata mx5 that just totally died on me the other night. i was driving down the road and all of a sudden my rpms dropped to nothing, my service light came on, and then my gauges shut off following the dying of my car. i coasted to a stop and tried to restart but with no success. the started is doing it's work but it just seems to sound like it is spinning freely, as if my timing belt is broke. haven't checked that yet but i also can't hear my fuel pump engage when i turn the key on. i am getting no spark to my plug wires and i am getting no fuel either. we hooked it up to a diagnostic machine but it kept coming back with the message that it couldn't connect to my car. my car is obd2. i've come to the conclusion so far that it could be either a bad fuel pump relay, a bad main relay, fuel pump itself, timing belt, or needs new computer altogether.
the second question is really the one i need answered first. if you know or know someone who might help PLEASE respond to this. i'm kinda broke right now and i don't want to spend money on something that i don't need especially if i need a new computer.
tthank you to all.
