Hi guys, I have an 03 cavalier ls sport 5-speed. I have owned the car for a little over a year and in the past 2 months the car has had trouble starting on 3 occasions. When I turn the key the first time it is like the engine just does not catch. Then, when I try it a second time the starter just winds until it eventually catches. I may have to try it a few times until the car finally starts. Also, when this happens for a couple of minutes until the car warms up the idle drops for a second and then goes back up to normal when I stop at a light. The weather does not seem to have an effect, as it was a different type of weather on the three occasions. Has this happened to any one else, or has anyone heard of this happening before? I am just wondering if this is something that has happened to other people with ecotecs. Thanks.

how much gas is in the tank at any given time when it does this? are you starting it on a flat surface?

Always on a flat surface and with at least a half a tank of gas.
