Ok, did a head gasket change on a 97 2.2 motor. Old motor was leaking around the head gasket and had orange goop from soemone who didnt understand there was nothing to be used on the head and block mating surfaces. Flatness was fine. Head didnt even look dirty. Block looked like someone honed the cylinder walls. Just the orange goop blocking some of the cooling passages. Anyhow. Got it assembled and Cylinder 2 continues to misfire and caue the engine ro run rough. Checked the Coil pack, it puts out a spark. Changed the plugs, no change in running. Have yet to do a compression test, but the car is eating gas. Is there any any easy solution to this problem? Incidently there wasnt a problem with the way the car ran prior to dismantling. Just the antifreeze leaking from the gasket. There are no more leaks now though.
Forgot to Add this, motor seems to run better at higher RPM's/speeds and is setting a P0302 CEL
