I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this problem but everytime I put my car up on ramps to change my oil I scrape the bottom of my front bumper. I have a stock height 03 LS sport and I plan to lower my car is it's going to be a bigger problem. So my question is to the guys who have lowered cars and do your own work do you use ramps?

I dont use ramps, i use a jack and jackstands. And since im lowered i put a 2x8 down to drive up on so i can fit my jack under my car. I only have to put them behind my front tires to drive up on because the rear has enough clearance.
I work at Jiffy Lube, and my car clears our lift, so its not bad for me, the exhaust rubs a little coming in, but its because its old and crappy, and hangs down too far. When i get her back from the shop for the clutch, ill put my new exhaust on, and take care of that problem. Ive got a 98 'Fire GT, not sure how far the LS Sport Lips are though. We did however had a Base 03 Cav come in with 18's and Sportlines that cleared our lift. Worth a shot i guess?
I use a nice jack that has a low profile in the front. Sears has a Craftsman jack that says it's for lower vehicles for like $120.

here. put a few pieces of wood 2 or 3 inches tall in front of the ramps so it lifts the car a littel before hitting the ramp. i'm on sportlines and use two bricks in front of each of the ramps and it works fine.

Blew it up
Yeah, I put a 2x4 infront of the ramp then drive onto it.
Thanks guys I might try that next time. Although does anyone have a problem other than me with a stock height LS sport going up ramps?

well when i change my oil i just drop the one side of my car and raise the other side and im good to go
other than that it would be a good idea no just make your own ramps out of some 2x4s and then drive up on them then use a jack to jack the car up
You wouldn't even BELIEVE what I have to go through to get my car in the air...between the drop, kit and my (now) sideways muffler which won't allow a jack in from the rear anymore:
I usually end up putting a "staircase" in front of each front tire. I drive up onto the first level, then up again onto a higher level and I'm golden. I couldn't use ramps unless I took the front bumper off
Pretty much any mod you do to your car is going to make it less functional in some way, shape or form. It's the price we pay for what we love to do--but you get used to it.
i use some black ramps i bought at autozone they are low profile so i get up no problem and my cars lowered 1.6 inch and i have the stock ls kit
Moms & Dads talk to your kids, before its too late, tell them to say no to aluminum wings.
I would never use ramps to do anything under a car. My dad had a friend that got killed because the car rolled off the ramps, for gods sake get a jack and never go near it without jackstands, unless you can bench 3000lbs?
i just made my own ramps

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

Are you talking about the Blitz Rhino ramp?

If you properly secure the car it shouldn't roll off a ramp.

Your Dads friend obviously didn't know how to use the ramps then or was in a place he should never have been with ramps...
#1 rule I learned WAY back in grade 8 was if you are going to have your car up on anything... Ramps or Jackstands... you ALWAYS chock the wheels so it cannot roll!!!

Knowledge about everything and yet an expert of nothing!!
Jack of all trades.
