ok my throw out bearing went out on me last week i am gonna upgrade to a stage 2 clutch and aluminum flywheel how hard is it to change clutch out of a 96 2.2 liter do i have to take the whole tranny out or will be able to just drop it enough to change it if i do that will it mess up the axles? please help thanks

you have to drop the trans out of the vehicle...you also have to pop the axles out of the trans before doin so....it wont mess anything up you just have to remove them

You have to remove the driveshafts regardless before you can get anywhere on this project. You have to remove the entire transmission, otherwise you will never have enough room to PROPERLY replace the clutch and get it set into proper position, to remove the pressure plate, and flywheel. It is a pretty fun and a PITA job to do. I did it on my 99 Z-24. We also have slave cylinders, not throw out bearings, we have hydrolic clutch systems.
