I need to know if the 95 2.3 Quad cover that holds the spark plug boots will work on my 97 cavalier 2.4

I can see that the bold holes are the same and the connector fits, but will it run properly ???

yes man it will work. just be careful when swaping the coils over to the new IDI cover cause there spring loaded and will spring appart. it is just a cover not a piston or cam. Even if you take 3 day to swap a 10 min thing your motor will still be good and sealed.

when i say cover i mean the whole thing as in a direct bolt on
i know it will fit but i need to know if the coil and whatever else is on the bottom of the cover will work.

i wasnt planning on taking the white plastic part off

yes. it will.

Check my cardomain in my profile. That cover is the 2.3 cover. but it's using the 2.4's coils because the coils on the 2.3 cover were badly damaged.

is there any gain in using 2.3 ho coils or are they the same

I have the whole 2.4 assembly on my 2.3 (coil pack went out in my 2.3, friend had a spare one from his 2.4... just swapped the whole thing out). So yes...

I think you need to use the bolts from the 2.3 as well, or some equivilant. For the 2.4L they put in rubber insulators at each bolt. I assume those are there to absorb some vibration from the block to the IDI cover but you never know.
