radiator replacement

Hello all,

I've been trying to find a replacement radiator for my 97 2.2 cavalier with manual trans. My problem is all of the places that I've looked at only seem to have that radiator with the automatic transmission cooler outlets, also the stores I've searched do not differentiate between manual or automatic trans.

My question is If I were to buy this radiator and drop it into my MT cavy would coolant leak from these outlets?

or does the the radiator with the automatic transmission cooler outlets also work with a manual transmission vehicle?

Any insight would be appreciated thanks.

Since tranny fluid and engine coolant aren't compatible, it goes to say that the two systems are wholly separate from one another in the radiator. Only difference I can think of is loss of working volume to allow for the tranny cooling jacket. The overall size should be about the same. If, in all desparation, you need one, I'm guessing that the auto tranny one would suffice so long as you capped off the holes in some way.

i just bought a new one for 90.00 for my automatic. when i got it it came with caps over the tranny holes not sure if they were permenent but it looked like it, i think ud be fine, either way its not like the tranny fluid touches coolant so no coolant wouldnt leak

I put my order in so I should be receiving the radiator soon. We'll see how it goes.
