I have a 95 cavalier Z24 with the quad 4 motor. The exhaust flange broke off so as a result I have been looking for the whole catalytic converter/flange part on E-bay and elswhere. I can not find one for my 2.3. Will the 2.4 4 bolt flange from 96 up work? If not where can I find the part, besides Gm ($500 ouch.

Its not the Catalytic converter I need, just the flange that hooks into the exhaust manifold. A shop in town quoted me $200 to put a new flange on and weld it to the downpipe. It just sounds more pheasable for me to buy the converter which includes the piece (like the piece GM sells for $500) and end up with a new converter and new flange in one piece for $150.
your not gonna be able to find this piece seperate..its welded on...CHEAPEST way to do this is to just have it welded back on...if its broken that bad go to a yard and find another one for cheap but either way its "not sold seperately"
or you could always just redo your exhaust with headers and pipes...probably gonna cost ya as much ...sorry
The piece that I am talking about on ebay replaces the flange that I am speaking of. Basically my question now is will it bolt up to my quad 4, is the front flange that hooks into the manifold the same; and is the flange that hooks into the cadalytic converter the same? And furthur will it fit (right length, and bend)
It is broke, just after the flange where the rings are located.
I know one difference is that this 96+ piece has an oxygen sensor bung after the cat, but I can just plug that up, since my 95's is in the exhaust manifold.
