how much to the plugs have to be gapped
if you ordered the right ones for you car they should come out of the box with the right gap
I would not worry about regaping in hopes of any preformance gains unless you got a no2 or boost
but they are gapped at 50 and moat people tell me it is suppose to be 60 SO I WAS JUST CHECKING
I believe it was at .60 for the 2.4L. I have mine gapped at that amount.
does your cavy got tan interior
thats weird i got a 2000 silver z24 and i got grey
theres no such thing as a pre-gap. u can think that if u want to but when ur avg joe drops ur plugs when packign them and it lands on top there goes ur pre-gap...i always check the gap if they come "pre-gapped" b4 i put plugs in a car. and if not pre-gapped not hard at all to gap plugs.

not really supposed to gap platinum plugs, and they have a cardboard sleeve around the electrode / ground for the dropping reason.
CAR GODS MADE THE 1.6 SOHC TO MAKE US 2.2 OHV GUYS FEEL BETTER.
I made a mistake, it's a 0.060 gap
And it's not that wierd I have a tan interior!

According to the official GM Service Information books I have for 2K Cavalier/Sunfires the gapping is .050 for both the 2.2L or the 2.4L.

Knowledge about everything and yet an expert of nothing!!
Jack of all trades.
i agree my manual says to gap at . 050 for 2000 suns/cavs and thats what i use. i found that the so -called pre gap on the plugs never seemto be right when i check them .so i always gap them myself to be sure
