How do I take out the bulb to change one side of my plate light , I belive the part that says pontiac and the plate light are the same bulb but how do I remove the bulb ?
7mm socket. undo the the bolt on the top of the plate hole (don't know what else to call it), jiggle it and it comes right out.
what will come right out ? the entitre back piece ? I need to know how to change it ,I see to many cars with half the pontiac lit up!
Oh. You are looking for the PONTIAC light. I thought you were looking for the license plate light. I would asume all you need to do is open the trunk and pull back the carpet frojm that area and you should see the bulbs.
From the looks of it the plate light and pontiac light are the same bulb , I just aint sire how to take it out. I can see the connector but ,

yeah your right about the bulbs lightin up both the sign and your license plate,u have to remove the whole plastic piece that the "pontiac" thingy is on,open your trunk,and on the inner side and i think there is 5 nuts to take off the bolts that is holding it on,take those off and the piece should come off,the bulbs will be exposed,unhook the harness from the car,the bulbs should come off fairly easy,if not just give a tug.anyone else have better directions jump on in.
Been changing those lights in my 'Fire for years now, never had to take off the plastic piece. I always can get my fingers up in there from the outside (or carfully handled needle-nosed pliers) and rotate the socket 1/4 turn out of its (their) mount(s). VERY tricky if the bulbs are hot -- ouch! I don't have the skinniest fingers, either.
I tried that no way I could get my fingers in and impossbile to turn prolly were never changed asince 95 lol
