so i'm swapping out the old 86 2.8, for a newer 88 style 2.8. i have the EXTERIOR (engine compartment wiring) for BOTH, but i ending up having the INTERIOR harness stolen. originally i intended on simply doing a FULL harness swap, but now i don't have the interior part...
my concern is primarily the gauges, cause they're the only thing different. the lighting and interior electronics should be the same, but i don't know much about it.
the original engine still had the distributor... so the signal for the tach would be coming from IT... on the new 2.8, well, i guess it comes from somewhere in the DIS... i don't remember what exactly though, but the signals would be coming from different places... other then that i would imagine everything else is the same gauge wise... i like the digital gauges, and i want them working! i could swap it out for the needle type gauges, but i don't like them as much...
is it possible to use the existing wiring on the INSIDE of the car, and simply run the new 88 wiring in through the firewall w/ the new computer?
plz help! i need someone that KNOWS about wiring harness's!
