Are they that retarded or did they just not think anyone would buy one? That would have been one badass J-body.

Viggen
A high-powered version of the 9-3 was the Viggen, named after the Saab Viggen aircraft. It came with a turbocharged 2.3 L Ecotec engine, giving 230 hp ECE (169 kW). Acceleration from 0-100 km/h was achieved in 6.4 seconds and the top speed was 249 km/h.

GM didn't own all of Saab until 2000 and the 9-3 Viggen was released in 1998...

I'm sorry, but when it comes to things that are retarded... I've gotta put forward THIS THREAD!
It's one thing to ask "Why didn't GM build the Z24 Technic... or the American Tuner Sunfire... or Sunfire GXP... or Cavalier Turbo Sport... or Cavalier 263 Super Sport... or Cavalier Z24R 180... or the Cavalier MOAB... or Sunfire 2.4 HO.... "
You know, a concept model that existed...?
But to ask what you did.... why??? Are you trying to look really cool? Here's one for ya... why didn't Roush do up a Cavalier? How about... a Cavalier ZR-1 with a Corvette engine in it?
Sorry.. I'm not trying to come off as a total ashole here, be that as it may... but let's be realistic folks!!

Yeah I think she confused the ECO's.
The ecopower engine is the saab engine, while the ecotec is the GM engine.

The saabs were also originally designed after their aircrafts. GM's weren't

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
I doubt it would have gone over well production wise.
However it does lend to some cool custom ideas.
Hmm, I wonder if someone was to do a 1st gen. hatchback style.
