I really hate posting and asking how to do something but I just bought an 03 lss with the painted mirrors and one of the outer sail pices is broken. The paint is fine on the mirror part so i wanted to swap them onto another set of coupe mirrors i have.

Id really hate to break either mirror trying to pull them apart.

Just grab and yank, seem like there gonna break but pop off, just did it on my 02 to paint mirrors from my parts car to match my car and couldnt figure it out at first so grabbed and yanked and worked for me

Its one spring that wraps around the inside of the mirror. I used safety wire to pull the spring off the base and hooked to the mirror it self. If one end of the spring goes inside the mirror it sucks, it takes awhile to fish it out. When I get a chance ill take a pic.

I read it wrong, spook 427 is right if just swapping outer part, I was thinking you were talking about the glass part
