HIDs, DRL's and relay harnesses..

Does anyone know if the DRL's will function as normal with HID's installed with a relay harness?

I know they will flicker without the harness due to half voltage that the DRL's run at, but does anyone know if they will function correctly with the relay harness? Since power is supplied to the HID ballasts directly off battery power and that the stock harness only acts as the trigger to the relay.

Unless my electrical thinking is incorrect, I would think they would still function as normal, unless of course the relay requires 12 volts to work.

I did do a search for this, but didn't see anything related to DRL's and HID's with the relay harness.

The relay is a 12 volt relay. You should open your search to outside the job its pretty simple to find.

You cant keep your DRL's, the HID's don't like to run at that lower voltage and will just burn up.

What you're suggesting would basically be the same as always having your headlights on since with HID's its either full power or nothing.

that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.
"Run! He's fuzzy!" "Get outta here!"
