I bought mine from
Illstreet. Good guys to deal with.
dont get it off ebay.
the ones on ebay are fiberglass with carbon laid over the top cheap rip off's with 'VIS' stickers.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.
I got my Evo hood through Jason at A+ Performance. If you don't see it on his site contact him as he should be able to get it for you. He did the same thing for myself.

Hate to break it to you, but all "C/F" hoods are carbon laid over fiberglass.

This is 100 % true... and they weigh only around 10 lbs less than the fibreglass hood of the same style

wow... sorry to break it to you kyle but your wrong.
i have a fake VIS hood bought from ebay, its fiberglass with carbon laid over it. you can see the underside, its fiberglass. AND i have a REAL vis hood i got off clyde. the real FULL (yes it is) is lighter than my fiberglass with cf laid over version. i have not confirmed this with a scale (wouldnt even know how) but you can feel the difference just picking them up.
but that VIS hood is a FULL carbon hood, its just sprayed with black gel coat on the underside but does have a carbon 'lip' that comes around on the bottom. you can tell by feeling the backside of it as well. its all the way carbon fiber.
also, fiber images made a FULL carbon hood for us. ive got pics of all of this im saying as proof... just dont have time to dig it up right now but i will if you press it.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.
Class Glass also made a full CF hood..my Extractor is full-through CF
My fibreimages hood is cf laid over fibreglass...
my VIS trunk is 100 % cf ... you can tell by looking at the bottomside of the two...

And powder coat soaks into metal. Making a full C/F is very expensive and it is surprising that someone would waste their overhead making one for our cars. I guarantee you that if you bought a "real" VIS C/F hood it'll be carbon laid over fiberglass and still have the price tag of ~$500. Besides isnt it illegal for another company to put a "VIS" tag on their "inferior" product?
My brothers old VIS hood, that burned on Gorman's, car was 90% CF. with a little Fiber glass on the underside.

You cannot see anything threw the gel coat, so how do you know there is C/F under it?
the fact that the dividing line could only be that perfect due to taping...
the fact the hood is lighter than my other one...
the fact i can FEEL the different style weave from the backside...
and the fact that near the hood prop hole its also see-through gel coat. they didnt just carbon the front lip part and around the hood prop hole and use fiberglass for the rest.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.
i wish i could find someone who was selling there invader hood cuz that price is wack, but im paying for quality now luxury in this case.

the price on visracing.com is direct from VIS... you'll have to: 1) buy used, or 2) establish a whole sale account with them --- to get an authentic VIS hood cheaper...
ugh.. DAMN IT. i cant find the pics of the fiber images hood!!!!
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.

So they taped off one whole section of the mold just to lay down clear gel coat so you can see a strip of C/F. That isnt a waste of time or resources...
BTW, You can buy woven fiberglass.
wtf do you mean you can buy 'woven' fiberglass? isnt ALL fiberglass 'woven'?! its fibers WOVEN together, wow!
and who cares why companies do things. that doesnt change the fact that its full carbon. the hood is still lighter and i know how carbon fiber looks/feels. if you have any rk sport carbon engine bay items look on the their undersides then compare to something fiberglass... completely different texture and weave style.
im still digging for those fiber images pictures... i have them somewhere.

Nope. You have chop mat which are loose fibers pressed together and cloth which is woven like C/F.
