hey guys im in desperate need of your expertise.
Brief Story:


I had a "friend" who painted my car and screwd it up... BAD. i got one of the RKsport touring wings and he bondoed it straight to the trucked. now it cracked and is flaking due to the difference in types of materials im guessing. ive personally never done paint body work.

Well there are tons of in's and out's to the story but basically he's a drug dealer and involved in all kinds of shaddy things. I cant get a hold of him because he literally changes his cell number all the time and honestly i dont want him to work on it because he'll screw it up again. All i want to do is bash is head with a crow bar or pull his ^$&*^%& teeth out with a pair of channel locks.

Like i said lots of in's and out's to the story so if we could just spare those questions and get to WHAT THE HELL SHOULD I DO lol

My two options are get someone to do it ( i have zero money) OR to do it myself.

I have never done body work. Where do I start? Also I have heard since i will have to do the wing/trunk. When i repaint them even matching up the color number sequence... The shades will still be different.

Im upset, desperate and seem all alone in this. Please, can the JBODY guru's lend me sound advice once more

i think he's trying to say the guy molded the wing into the trunk with strait filler and nothing else.


lesson learned on not letting hacks touch your car.

Normally i would feel sorry for you. but you had this coming. why do you know drug dealers that are involved with "shady things" and why the hell would you let them work on YOUR car?
let me just say this...just because you have no money is NO EXCUSE to not have it done right. (i know from experience) save up your money and take your car to a Maaco with good reviews and you can prob get that trunk / wing fixed at a decent price that wont look like total crap. everyone likes to say Maaco does crap work but they are franchises... its different place to place so make sure you see the work each shop has done.


you get what you pay for...you got what you paid for. what were you expecting at the price you paid the drug dealer??? would you go for discount drug dealer brain surgery ? i dont think so... im just really lost on your thought process...
nonetheless post some pictures and some of the guys that know body work might give more tips...

the fact that hes a drug dealer is an unrelated issue.. lol, cmon guys... any friend can claim to be able to do something they cant, trusting them to do the work is another story..
i know alot of "backyard mechanics" that say they can do everything but im not about to trust them without seeing some proof... im sure you all know tons of these guys as well...

k i said from the beginning i dont want a lecture about personal things i need help with the car. thanks to all those who are helping as not criticizing.

he was a family friend... its complicated. My cousin who was closer to me than my own blood brother died at 16 when i graduated high school (im 25 now). The guy was friends with my cousin. I had seen him paint cars with the supervision of someone else who did it professionally and they looked great. the guy (leaving anonymous) and I became better friends after my cousin's death it was hard on all of us. Matt my cousin helped me with that car so many times i cant count. I cant believe im saying this on a message board but to think about this car having a botched paint job brings tears to my eyes. This was supposed to be something special. Like i said I cant get hold of him anymore and cant trust him anyways if i could. I worked as a mechanic professionally and was let go from a dealer last year because of "differences" with the manager. I had a lot of money. I gave that "drug dealer" 2200 cash. In retrospect i would have rather drove the car to one of you guys and gave it to you. I did have that choice at the time. NOW I HAVE NO MONEY. Im filing bankruptcy and work a minimum wage job to pays bills and its just not cutting it. I cant go back and work as a mechanic because i screwd my back up royally and I lost my health insurance.


So.... Like i said there is a lot to this story. I could write 10 pages about all the times i got screwed with this car but its means so much more than that and on top of that i would never be able to get the money out of it.

I need help. Literally... LITERALLY life had F*CKED ME. I respect the hell out of you guys because you DO know what you are doing. PLEASE help.

He painted the whole car. The rest isnt bad but it sure as hell isnt good. He bondoed the wing to the trunk with just straight bondo. i never asked him to do it. he just did. in fact i told him to call me if he had a question. no phone call.

Sorry you have to deal with this man. I had a 95 Mustang (complete Saleen replica) that I sunk a ton of money into, then gave it to someone I thought was a friend to rebuild the motor and supercharge it for me. In the end, I found my parts on kijiji, and my car parted out, and left as a shell. It sucks to get ripped off man. I feel for you.

Anyways, you said the rest of the car isnt bad. What's wrong with it? Are there paint runs, or is it just orange peal? If it's orange peal, you can easily wet sand the car, and it will take all of that out, and the car will shine. as far as the wing/trunk situation, If you said it's all chipping off anyways, get it all off. you will probably have to do some sanding and that, but bondo if cracked, wont be hard to take off. then you would be back to square one with your trunk/wing being seperated. Then you would just have to sand/paint, and fix whatever needs to be done. I'm not body guy, but by what you're saying, it seems like that would work.

Im not saying I didnt make a lot of mistakes. i have. With the money i put into this car i could have imported an R-33.
But I dont want to focus on the subject of what happened. I want to focus on how to fix it. I was just reading a bunch of
posts in ANOTHER topic i put up and read that with the bickering that goes on here people turn away. Any i guess this
guy was someone who knew A LOT. why would people do that? why would this community that before the whole Cobalt
craze had something real to prove and should have focused on trying to shut all the other up together. This site has helped me a lot. More than most of you know because we simply dont communicate other than here. But this one. This PARTICULAR subject is extremely personal to me. I could go into this whole lame ass sob story that no one wants to hear but guys this ACTUALLY means something to me. SO yes i screwed up. Help me fix it.

Now that i got my soapbox the car is at my mothers house. i will be going there sometime later in the week and will take detailed pics for you of the complaints im

i would think this isnt really a priority either... i mean... if you have zero money and filing for bankruptcy.. a perfect paint job isnt exactly a top priority for you right now, or it shouldnt be.. you can get the bondo off and re-attach the wing properly and do what you can on the paint be it some wet-sanding or a touch up...

But my opinion is.. if you car runs fine, you have bigger things to worry about..

you let a known drug dealer, who you admit is shady, paint your car? you may not want tough luck speeches, but youre going to keep getting them.

as for a solution....do like everyone else has said and post up pics. if its just the wing thats the problem then you most likely wont need a full repaint.

eh... everyone makes mistakes. Like i said it was complicated and i was EXTREMLY niave...

oh well its not like it cant be fixed...

I actually had the seats stolen out of my car one day (diff story) they were stolen at a licenced shop in a good area. Some faggot kid just jacked my @!#$

i did some investigating and knew exactly who did it. the cops didnt do @!#$. The kid ended up at my house ballin his eyes out.




Me and that car have been through some crazy times

Items stolen (and returned)
Running from the Holly Police
Botched engine work (completely 100 % my fault)
Lawsuit with Mantapart (and won)
Botched Paint Job (too Naive)
Tranny swap
2.4 swap
100% interior swap etc. etc. etc.
and being my older brother's first vehicle


And not to mention the endless changes on it that probably wont ever stop



I dont like being a kiss ass but I do want to extend my appreciation to all those that have helped me
in the past as in the recent past/present.
