I've been talking to Class Glass about some parts for my car recently and brought up the idea of a group purchase to them on ALL their J-Body products. This is the email I got earlier this week....

I've talked with Bob, owner, and he says we'll try a group buy IF you can get 10 pieces sold. Everyone will receive 20% off. However, we'll need $100.00 deposit for each piece before fabrication begins. We'll also need paid in full before shipment. All pieces will go freight collect with the customer knowing, up front, what their cost will be and agreeing to it. We've tried group purchases before and been burned, so that's why we're making these stipulations. We make everything to order and cant have 5 Cavalier hoods sitting here because people backed out of the deal. Hope you can get this group purchase to work! We look forward to hearing from you.
So there's the deal. Because of bad GPs in the past, sounds familiar unfortunately, they have some stipulations.
1) Minimum of 10 pieces sold
2) $100 deposit on each piece
3) Paid in full before shipping
I know everyone hates the deposit thing but that's their stipulation so it's non-negotiable. Anyone up for this? I'm getting 2 things for sure so we only need 8 more things.

i see there is finally some intrest in this hood. as of now there is only me and one other with it, i absolutely love it.

its not cf is it? if so are they still putting on thr black gel coat?
yeah im curious on that too and how much extra to get it carbon fiber.
thats what i was pretty much asking because i dont think classglass makes cf pieces anymore without the black gel coat on it.
i would like to have a cf extractor or the turbo sport cf. also another question is shipping going to be the same price for everyone in the US or different depending on where at in the US??

the black gel coat is all over their cavalier stuff on the website. under every single CF item i saw it says BLACK GEL COAT ONLY.

Anyways....I believe tabs is right on the gelcoat. If we get enough that want it without maybe I can get them to not add it.
Shipping is dependant on location. If you know you want something add your name and the item to the list, please make sure you have the money ready in the next couple weeks though not around Christmas LOL, and add your zipcode too and I'll get you a shipping quote.

i doubt he would be willing to use clear gel-coat again.
the reason he doesnt anymore is because too many ppl were complaining about the weave not being perfect and he got sick of it.
Yeah I remember that. I guess I'm the only one who'd rather have a painted hood than bare c/f these days though. That's why I don't care if my parts are f/g or c/f. The minimal weight difference isn't worth the added price so it has to be about the look.

no i really want to see the carbon, i found a CBD turbo sport hood for 580 so im sure that he can match that or even around 650 for that and 550. so thats 1200 minus 20% is 960. lets say maybe 1100 shipped for the hood and trunk in carbon that i can see the weave. he has to make it so that i can see the weave, that is really one of the only ways i will buy. im sure he will tho
Just so your aware....the CBD hood doesn't show the carbon over the entire thing. Only where the scoop is. Read....

This means you will have to paint the outer portion of the hood. The hood inner retains all of the factory reinforcements and retains air functionality and drain holes. These hoods include fully bonded aluminum hinge plates, which ensure a vibration free fitment. The inner is finished in a black gel coat, which can be left unpainted.

Well that's right from their website. Might wanna email them and ask. I know their SRT4 hoods are carbon weave all over but ours might be diff....

oh, i have seen a few on j's before, like joeydabomb and 1999z24 and a few others and it shows all the weave. call and ask the guy about the clear gel coat is enough people are interested or if extra is paid and let me know. i really want the hood and trunk
