Alright... I'm a bit stumped here..... I picked up a set of tail lights for my 2001 sunfire gt at the local junk yard and went to swap them in.... they're from a 2000 sunfire GT... I figured... hey this will be a quick swap... 3 10mm bolts and a twist and they should be off and on.... however when I took off my drivers side.... there is a extra socket that is placed inside the portion that is closer to the inside of the trunk.... it has a metal cap on it and 2 wires running to it.... I have the GM factory manual (2 volume big orange books) and it does not mention this wiring or how to remove this connection... or even what this connection is for...
any help??????? the wiring running to it looks 100% stock
nevermind figured it out.... the original owner towed the vehicle in its previous life.... so they did a custom job and installed additional bulbs so they weren't running the brake lights constantly
