I'm gonna use VHT niteshades on mine this week..we'll see how it goes..
^please post some pics when you're done. i've been wanting to see this forever
If you want it to look 100% professional, send them to the paint shop and tell them you want them sprayed with 20% black and 80% clear mixed.
I did a quick photoshop to show what I'm gonna do..some may like some may not..whatever..I love the look and hopefully I can get it to come out really nice :-) btw I suck at photoshop and this one took me all of 2 minutes..lol
Also now that IU look at it I will prolly go a little darker than in the pic..wish me luck..lol
THE RIGHT WAY:
lightly wet sand the lenses with 2000 grit paper, shoot lenses with VHT Nightshades to desired darkness (gets darker as the paint dries so go slowly), lightly wet sand once more, take to preferred body shop/paint shop of choice and have them professionally clear them with automotive grade paint. when done they look amazing and have a long lasting gloss.
pics of mine- (keep in mind i did not have them professionally cleared, i just use shoot-em-up can clear and waxed the hell out of em)
here's an ancient pic, 3rd brake light done as well.
Riddle me this... riddle me that...
i'm def wating to see how this turns out. are u gonna do it w/ night shades? or paint?
I did VHT paint, the only problem with that is if you get it on too thick it runs and is a pain to get rid of the runs
i donno y people leave that lil red ring around there reverse lights when they mask them!! i personally like them to meet up with the clear plastic!!, is it just preference?
It is raised and easier to make a clean round circle
Here are a few quick pics..I'm pulling them off to wetsand them I think and I just found I need to adjust my left outer light..lol
Sorry for the crappy pics..it's raining..
see, thats why you need the clear coat. nightshades' dries pretty dull.
Riddle me this... riddle me that...
I just slapped it on the car cause I needed taillights..lol..it's going to be wetsanded and cleared..

i like the looks of that too!! and i'm goin for that look when i get the car re-painted!! shaving all the badging!! is that chevy emblem just on there with 2 way tape?
it is as adhesive. Use heat, it is on tight
Im a fan of the 00-02 tails.. I have an 04 and I just don't dig it what so ever. It just sorta looks ricey to me with them painted black. Needs clear. If the reverse lights didn't look weird I wouldnt mind it.

SO what spoiler is this?
i like my tails i just hate the small ass spoiler. i wanted to go with the 00-02 ls sport spoiler that is way higher and wider. but i was told you cant cuz of the taillights....
