Well I took the stock rear off, removed the crush guard to reinstall drift rear, drift rear didnt fit so i tore it up, tried to put stock rear back on, and it doesnt fit worth a damn... what the hell am i doing wrong
so no ones ever installed a stock rear end?
what exactly isnt fitting? i gotta assume its human error somewhere, since it should bolt up exactly how it came off.
its sagging down to low. i think its cause the crush guard was taken off. and the plastic brackets that the screws tap into are stripped. im really wanting to make this thing look like it did before i took it off.
you mean the brackets that are bolted thru into the trunk?? if so, you can go a little bigger with bolt size to offset it being stripped. and ya, the sagging is definately due to no crush guard. if you still have a pieceof the crush guard, cut it up, and mount it inside the center of the bumper to help in the sagging
how would i mount it back on though. i took a crowbar and ripped it off. and dremels the stock rivets off.
i assume you mean the crush guard......you could just sit it inside the bumper, and when the bumper is mounted, it will be locked around the metal crush guard, so it wont go anywhere...ive used zip-ties to hold mine on. but once the bumper is bolted up with the gaurd in there, it wont go anywhere
o i see now.. lets hope that its still in the trash can.
Hey man good luck with fixing your bumper i am sure you will be fine as long as you get your crush gaurd up there.
But one comment i do need to make. If you are going to mod your car it is in your best intrest to keep all of the parts that you take off. I think you may realize this now, but you really don't want to get caught in a situation where your car is F$%*ed because you failed to keep an essential part of what ever your doing.
go to the junkyard and get another one maybe that would be your best bet.
2009 Ford Mustang V6
i think its still down in my friends stepdads garage. its only been a few days since we took it off.
or just buy some L brackets and put it on. Why did you trash the drift rear? no aftermarket parts fit correctly, they always need adjusting. also the drift rear is known to sag too.
cause i was stupid... i couldnt get any help so i got pissed and smashed it.
my temper got the best of me
Re-attach crushguard
and you'd need the crush guard for the drift rear as well(any new rear u should have it in there), just have to trim it a bit.. shouldnt just rip shet off or u get these kinda problems lol good luck with it i guess..
im oging to have to go to the junkyard and pick one up, cause the one that i took off is gone. any tips about how to take it off to make the reinstall easier.
drill out the rivits to remove it. to install it, i have no clue
forget it ill just use the L brackets, what size L brackets do i need, and where exactly do i put them?
geez man you're having no luck. Just bring the @!#$ up to Louisville and we will do it for you.
