I got an electric webasto aftermarket sunroof in my 97 cav, but whoever put it in did a horrible job they cut the heck out of the headliner and the thing doesnt work at all. it doesnt even seal right.

So I want to get rid of it, What is the best way to do this? I've been told that it would be near impossible to weld a piece of metal in there because the metal up there is to thin and it would warp?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

a competant welder should be able to put in a new piece of sheet metal without warping it.

or you could get a whole new roof skin..its what they do when roofs are beyond repair from hail damage

you should just get a new skin cause it will be hard not to warp it and it will be easier cause all you wil have to weld is spot welds and re spray were apposed to cutting out a new piece and then spot welding it a million times and then bondo and sand and putty and sand and primer and sand and paint just alot better if you get a new skin
