I did mine without sanding like others have done.

I cleaned them extremely well, then did about 6 light coats of VHT. I attempted to use spray clear, but didn't like the results, so a friend took them to his body shop and professionally cleared them. He did a bit of wet sanding and buffing to make them look pretty. I don't know how much it would cost to get them done since he did it for free. You could just ask a shop to toss them in with another car that's getting painted.
