trunk lock cylinder swap.

Swapping over to a 95-99 trunk from 04 and I need to put my lock cylinder in the 99 trunklid... I got the old one out by just pulling and I ripped the cable. I don't want to do this with my new cylinder and I don't wanna shave the key hole unless I absolutely mess it all up. How do I go about putting the new lock cylinder in the trunklid? Does it come apart in two pieces at all?

there is a metal "C-clip" behind that holds it in

Right, I got the c-clip off and loosened the cylinder, but it pulls out of the trunk from the inside. Only problem is, the release cable is still attached so I had to cut it. I need to find a way to get it out of the old trunk and into the new trunk without damaging the cable.

Have you thought about changing the latch from one to the other as well. That way you shouldn't have any problems, the cylinder and latch should come out together and bolt right up in the other trunk lid.
