i recently bought the jsp carbon fiber oem hood everything lined up and was really easy to install but now when i go to close the hood it doesn't want to stay down and in locked position i've tried numerous differnet things to correct this problem but it seems im a bit stumped if anyone could help me with this problem it would be much appreciated thanx
does the hood actually latch or does it not go down all the way to make it latch? did you adjust the bump stops?
i adjusted the bump stops and the hood goes all the way down and latches in the right place it just doesn't want to lock it into place also the is nothing obstructing the hood itself it seems like the hood just doesn't want to stay in the locked mode
Sounds like it might be a problem with the latch, not the hood.
take the latch off the car... you need to grind down the top of the "foot" part that 'latches' into the hood catch latch. its hitting the hood and preventing you from being able to shut it.
i did this and it worked great.
idk about JSP, but my VIS hood had this problem because VIS doesnt put a hole under the catch latch in their hoods (this area is where the 'foot' has clearance to go up into on a stock hood) on the VIS.... it simply doesnt have it, basically for strength in that section.
so maybe the JSP is the same way.

We had a similar problem with a VIS Hood for a Cougar.
We ended up having to lower the latch about 1/2 down.

I had a similar problem with my VIS. Just had to modify the latch a bit. Pretty easy fix.
My JSP fits & closes fine. Hmm.

my vis invader did the same, just had to adjust the latch a bit lower. Very easy fix.
