Side Skirt ?

Before I ask, I have read all the post about buying a body kit off ebay, and I admit I should have listened...
With that said, I finally got the front and rear on my car and fitting nice, I am having a problem with the side skirts though, the part that connects to the fender behind the wheel is about an inch too short. Is this common for side skirts? It seems the only way I could get them to fit is if I were to cut them completely in half and extend them somehow. The bottom part is long enough, its just the part that goes up along the side of the fender, almost like the end is at a slant like -> / instead of straight (Sorry no pics to post). The kit is an x-plosion kit, and I also wanted to know if I were to order a set from someone like Gravana if I should expect the same. If not, can I have opinions on which skirts would go well with that kit? I cant afford a whole new one right now and it just looks weird without the skirts. Thanks for the help.

my suggestion would be to build a mold of the center portion of the side skirt and then cut your skirt in half separate it to the correct length replace the mold and fiberglass the pieces back together again. better yet do the mold on the outside of teh skirt that way you have minimal thickness added ot the outside and the repair can be hidden on the inside.

well you cant force people to listen and you just have to let them make their own mistakes. your going to have to do what was said above and cut your skirt in half and glass in what you need. when i got my skirts from gravana, they fit perfect. they were so tight when they fit, i didnt even need screws to hold them on (of course i put screw in though but for the test fit they held themselves up)

Yeah, my mistake. Just didn't have the $ for a good kit and didn't expect it to not fit at all, lol. I am trying to resolve it with them right now before I leave feedback, and they seem to not want to shoot me down so hopefully Ill get a refund and can just order a new set from somewhere since I have no experience in fiber glassing. But this is not worth the couple $$ I saved by ordering off eBay. Im thinking about these http://gravanatuning.com/applications/1998_Chevrolet_Cavalier_Coupe_2.2.aspx/5/1003/_VIS_Invader_Side_Skirts hopefully they will flow well

Finally got a photo bucket account... Anyhow, thanks for the advice. One more question, here is the response I got regarding this.
"Thank you for providing us with the pictures. Upon further review,
our technician has advised us to inform you that the front portion of
the sideskirt will need to have the standard work done to it which
includes shaving of that portion to have it line up against your
fender wall. Also you will need to have some molding done to the
front in order to have it fit properly. Attached you will find a copy
of the general body kit installation guide which may be of some
assistance to you. Usually body shops who have had experience working
with fiberglass parts can perform the necessary work. If your body
shop cannot do the work, we recommend you take it to a different shop
to get a second opinion"
Is this correct? Shaving and molding is standard work? Just wondering. Thanks.
