id like this info also as im relocating mine this week
ps - have any of u guys cut the stock hose while u still have gas in the tank?
if you look under your car, there is a place on the filler tube were it can be disconnected from the tank. disconnect it there and seal off the tank, to prevent fires. i'm not sure, but you may be able to completely remove it from the car.
let me know if you find out the hose size. i'll measure it when i get home around 6 or 7. i plan on doing mine this weekend

i wanna relocate my filler behind the license plate . like the old mustangs. any of you guys done that!?!?
98'zeta veinte-quatro
(z24)......
that's not a good place to put it. you have to a slope on the filler tube or the gas will come back out at you. it was possible to have on the older mustangs because the tag was higher than the gas tank.

anyone know the pyrpose of the EVAP hose on the filler? i'm thinking about eliminating and pluging hole at the tank. seems like a result of over engineering, that was fixed on later models.would this cause a problem?

i was curious why some of the pics from previous reloactions showed that smaller hose thetre too. mine didnt have it so i was a bit confused, lol.
i dont think it would harm anything, but dont quote me
i found this while searching for the answer

95-99 tank is steel... 15.2 gallons (57.5 L)
00-05 tank is plastic... 14.1 gallons (53.4 L)
95-98 has a front-mounted EVAP canister and a vent line next to the fuel filler line by the gas cap. 99-05 has the EVAP canister mounted between the tank and the axle under the rear of the car. there is no vent line to the gas filler, but instead an EVAP line runs parallel to the fuel send & return lines to the engine bay.
The tanks are the same as the N-body tanks... my 2000 'vert has an 04 Alero tank in it, with a 00 Buick Park Avenue fuel pump
So 99 is a hybrid year... same fuel pump canister as all years, but the evap is on it, unlike the 95-98 design. And the level sensor changed in 2000, uses silver contacts which were recalled in most places for reading quarter tank when they were really empty... most 00 and 01 cars.
I think that's all the useless gas tank info I have in my head...
i got a metal tank, so it looks i gotta go back to the store for more hose
