I know there are laws that do not allow for different color turn signals and headlights, but what about the fog lights? Is it the same for them? I see cars with normal headlights and turnsignals, but with different color fog lights like blue, purple, gree, etc. Are these legal? I was thinking about getting the super white foglight bulbs or green or red ones, but I wasn't sure about the legality of these bulbs. I live in Central, PA.

If you contact the DMV they will be able to give you a better reference, probably your states Highway Patrol or Sherrif's department.

Call PennDOT and see what is required under the following chapter (its not clear as to what is needed, just that "The department shall promulgate regulations governing the number, visibility, color, size, type, construction, location and use of lamps, other lighting equipment and any retroreflective surfaces on vehicles. "
It doesn't give a color requirement in the code...

In general, anything outside of yellow/orange and white on the front of a vehicle is going to be asking for trouble. It is mostly going to depend on the mood of the cop that pulls you over or the mood of the guy doing your inspection. Each state has their own laws that regulate this and every cop can apply it however they feel at the moment. Most cops won't pull you over for just lights, but if they pull you over for anything else, they may choose to stick you with as many tickets as they can write.
Fog lights are also usually considered headlights in many states, which would give them the same restrictions as headlights. Like others have already posted, check with your sheriff, state police/highway patrol, or DMV for verification. They are ones who enforce any laws, so they "should" have somewhat of a clue.
Usually cops tend to care the most about the major lights. Turm signals, headlights, fog's, etc. Anything that can be seen by another driver if they look behind them. Headlights they usually let slide, cause quite frankly, I'd love to get into an argument with a cop claiming a tinted green xenon lights is illegal, yet the BMW's and what not that use 10000K HID lights that are beaming purple with enough light to land an airplane . . . Around me, they don't really pull you over for small stupid stuff like this though. I see people with clear/blue turn signals all the time. I see a lot of neons on all the time, etc. I've never been pulled over for driving with my neons on, or my blue plate light, or my white turn signals. Yet my friend gets pulled over all the time when he has his blue fog lights on . . . Really strange. Point being, it is all illegal, but it depends on the cop that pulls you over.
Have you ever actually sat in a BMW and seen what the lights really look like? They may cast a purple or green tint off on the side, but the actual light that hits the road is pure white.
I think in MO you can have your neons on while driving as long as the light itself is not visible to other drivers, just the underbody glow is. At least that was my understanding of it. Either way, we are all correct in that it mostly is up to the cop that is pulling you over or about to pull you over.
I guess I'll just stick with the regular fogs. I'd rather not have to deal with the unwanted attention and then get tickets for everything else, lol. Just not worth it. I did read something about "Brighter Fog Light Bulbs - 2000+ GT's" on the Team Forward Motion website where you can upgrade the fog lights from 27 watt bulbs to 55 watt bulbs. Anyone know the bulb size of the fogs on an 03 Sunfire?

Really? I've never been in something with HID's that are primarily blue or purple (7000+K). You see the blue/purple in the rearview with ease along with on the side. Weird that it would be pure white on the street. Their not bad looking, just too damn bright, lol.
I have the Luminics JDM Yellow bulbs in my '03. Was told it was fine because some newer Acura cars come with the yellow fogs. They seem to do a pretty good job adding light to my PIAA Xtreme whites when I need it.
Yellow fogs are actually better then white/blue. They reflect less.

The coolest thing is watching them warm up when you first turn them on. The coolest blue glow that over about a 60-90 sec span turns to a very intense white. Just for that it makes me want to buy me a 3 series.
