There a template to help install RKS Touring Wing?
Saturday, September 09, 2006 12:07 PM
I have an RK Sport Adjustable Touring wing I got used from someone who bought it used probably from someone else who bought it used so if it originally came with something like that, it's long gone. All it came with were the four screws to mount the center peice, the wing, to the sides and of course the covers for the adjustableness.

Now, is there a template for this thing? Are you supposed to just assemble it and throw it on the trunk lid and find what works best and guess where to drill the holes? I'm going to be doing something a little different with this so I want it to be as accurate as possible because I want to be able to install the sides and then be able to drop the center peice in and screw it in with the sides already on the trunk. Once it's "done" I won't be able to adjust the sides to make up for any difference of length.

.....and I am just rambling so I'll stop now. Thanks.

ive put one on before and i just assembled it and marked the wholes where to drill and drilled it. the wing basicly falls where it is suppose to on the trunk once you set it on there. you will see what im talking about if you try it. but i would assemble it get the wholes drilled the you can disassemble and do what ever you have to do.

I tried that because I have a spare trunk but everytime I set it on one of the legs would stick off of the trunk that would be closest to the rear window. I couldn't get it level so that both legs would sit perfect on the lid.

I used to have that spoiler, haha.. might be my old one..

But if you put 3m tape on the bottom of the wing and pull of the sides and stick it to the lid to where it sits right and stays, then drill up into the bottom of the wing to hold it on more securely you should be able to keep it from getting uneven that way
