how hard would it be to convert a 96 cavy to a cobalt body kit? if so.. does anyone know what the wiring would be on the cobalt? so i can re-wire the lights to fit?

Would be more work than you think, none of the body lines even come close to lining up, and the headlights are so big that it would take up half the hood.

i know it's lots of work...but in the end i think the results would be worth it...and i'm checking other ppls opinions and see what they think and how hard it would be... my biggest concern would be how big of a pain will the back end be?

LOL, 2k to make your cavy into one? No...

Just look at the front end, those fenders would never line up with the doors, you'd do so much work to it at a shop that you would actually end up spending that much. After parts, paint, and labor, it would take a good year in a shop to get it to look good, and you'd pay through the nose. Just buy a cobalt, the base models are like $13k, put an S/C on it from a 2.2, and you're golden for less than $15, minus your trade I bet you'd come out way ahead instead of doing this.

I have a cobalt the headlights to replace mine were like $600 alone so fenders hood and bumpeer would cost what 400 then labour is 200 paint 800 hell everyone jump on this whoever he deals with is dirt cheap

Anyone ever consider that he may have a donor Cobalt from a junkyard or is able to do his own bodywork?? Then the $2k goes toward materials.

Don't rip on somone who wants to do something original...we are ALL in this together, we have cars that are less then accepted in the aftermarket and tuner industries... Least we could do is support someone being original.

Go with the front end, then just do the Cobalt coupe tails. Could look sweet when all is said and done.

Do some fiberglassing and just convert the rear. That would look hot.
