NO this is NOT another "how do I mold my urethane side skirts, or rear bumper" post..... This post pertains to molding urethane to plastic. I am wanting to mold the top half of a factory bumper to the bottem half of a urethane bumper. What products would I need to mold it together? Would I use Fuser 147, or a plstic weld? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appritiated. Thanks in advance.
I would not suggest doing it but if you are going to use the fusor and the plastic weld like you said...you might want to consult a professional also to see what they say about it.
I can't remember what the 147 fusor was for ....but I would recommend the 142 fusor. Thats what I use all the time to repair bumper covers and other plastic parts. It is more for the inside part of the bumper for support. You could use it on the outside but it doesn't featheredge that great unless you let it harden for awhile. Thats were you could use the fusor 114. Oh and if you do use the 142 don't forget the adhesion promoter.....just in case. As for plastic welding...are you talking about chemically welding or hot air / airless welding. Cause if you were to hot air / airless weld the plastic, they have to be the same type of plastic to bond together. Hope some of this helps....if not just ask and I'll try to help.
