Well, lately Ive been staring at the front end of my car and thought of an idea. I see many people using projectors in their headlights, and thought, why not put them in the fog light/front indicator location on the 95-99 GT sunfire. Im wandering whether or not this can be done and got a few questions, (the projectors are off a 3 series bmw).
Projectors are normally placed inside a headlight enclosure, could I use them without it? In other words would water kill it if its not covered?
Would I have a problem mounting it? Has it been done before?
...gotta put this in for the hell of it...am i stupid! (only with that respect..lol)
idea is good.
but the lense of the projector needs to be protected, as stone chips on the lense, which will happen will deterioate the output of the projector.
Also projectors are not weatherproof, which means water will leak in, and will destroy the output and your H.I.D bulbs with it.
unless you can find a exterior projector....
something like on the impalas...
Thanks Don, anyone else? i dont mind stone chips, but are you sure about weather deterioration?
Stone chips are actually kinda a big deal when it comes to projectors.... the output will diminish, as well as aiming because the light will reflect off the chick in wierd ways.
I found that the 2000+ Celicas have projector fog lights that are enclosed and a good size to do what you are thinking.
