Rust on the frame

Ok I found out not to long ago that there is rust on the frame of my Cavalier. It is not bad yet but a mechanic said is has eatten through a few layers of the frame. Everybody tells me that I have about 2 years left at the rate it is going before I need to get rid of my car. I really dont want to get rid of my car I almost have it paid off, and I have already done so much to it to start over. I have one auto body mechanic telling me that he can fix the rust and undercoat my car after it is fixed for about $650. I know he is a quality mechanic he customises in custom car work and has had five cars he has totaly restored in Hot Rod Magazine. I was wondering if you all think it is worth the $650 to repair my car? Or should I start looking around for a new one and trade this one off before it gets to bad.

My car has two speeds, fast and faster.

That is mean though I don't think I could do that to someone. But I would use it as a trade in on a new car at a dealership ;D.
