Projector Headlights

I know that in order to have projector headlights for a 00-02 model, you need to change the front bumper out to a 95-99 and use the projector headlights for those years. I was wondering if anyone knows why they DONT make projector headlights for 00-02 models. Doesn't make much sense to me lemme know thanks guys

Because on the most part J-body owners are to "cheap" to commit enough money to getting Projectors made by a big company. It actually cost them ALOT of money for R&D, prototyping, and getting DOT certification. WHen people complain about buying a $200 set of projectors that cost $150 to make, plus they have to sell over 100 to recoup creation costs, it hard to justify.

That's why we have such great people as IZN TRBL. Who show us that WE can make out own with just a little work.

raven is right. the j community is just getting cheaper and cheaper. they want these parts but when it comes down to buy, they dont wanna shell out the money cuz they complain that it cost too much.

you can either retro-fit a set into your existing headlights or have izn trbl make you a set but their not gonna be cheap

Josh is NOT expensive. $85 for my projectors was a steal, plus $35 for angel eyes, I'm doing projectors for less than $150. I also had a spare set of Passat headlights, but if I bought those on ebay it would have only added about $125 or so.

Plus will the ebay guy go out of thier way to call you (yes, on a phone like real people) on your schedule and walk you through issues with installation, tips for getting it mounted right, and such? Not a chance.

I hate to sound like a prick, but this sounds awfully familiar...

It has been debated before, and for the cost of materials, it would be close to, if not even with what IZN charges.

Projectors - 2 @ 85 = 170
Civic Projectors from eBay - 110

Clear headlight lens (Sunfire) - 100 -- Unknown for Cavi's

So far at 380...

Add to that the cost of any additional parts you will need... (HID bulbs/ballast, etc)

Whatever IZN is charging is more than fair in my book

From the thread where it was debated...

the prices i've seen for custom projectors are, in my opinion, reasonable considering the work that goes into it. i've talked to Jeremy about how to make the projectors, and still to this day have not taken on that task because of how much work is involved. getting the clear lense made, and making it look good is a lot of work. then, there's still the matter of retrofitting the headlight housing with the projector lense and getting everything put together. if you went to a body shop and asked them to make you a set of custom projectors, it'll probably cost around that price, minimum.

if you don't want to pay someone else's price to make something, figure out how to do it and make it on your own. nobody else is going to tell you how to make something that they sell for profit, regardless of what it is.

And to expand on this, we may drop hints along the way for assembly on the DIY facet, but not tell exact step by step. Especially on a product that is being sold for profit.

This is by far the most stupid thing I've heard since I'm here, good way to try to destroy someone who's making a lot of unique things for J's owner. Things that big company don't make. END OF STORY like you said. I bought the stuff from him, I'm barely done with the projectors, need some adjustements and better weather to complete them. Josh gave me all the info I needed to make them and I discovered that I'm not talented with this kind of work. A lot of people are like me and it's easier to get someone make them for you in this situation (thing that I should have done).

Yeah, cause it's so easy...

You're the same shady character who used Josh's kindness for granted and tried finding out how he makes them step by step. You contribute nothing to this website yet you'll try and cut down someone who offers a reasonable priced product for what you're getting?

Just because YOU can't afford to buy parts you want doesn't mean that we will sacrifice quality for money unlike you.

Go preach to someone who cares...

X3. It's a wonder that any companies or individuals are willing to provide products to the J community, nobody wants to pay for parts. Kustom 96 Sunfire GT go back to ebay and stop trying to discourage a hard working capitalist economy. Josh does damn fine work and he stands by his product in many cases going above and beyond what he was paid to do. You get what you pay for. Period.

I doubt that this is the same Xtreme96Sunfire that we all loved to hate. Now, I'm only going off the profile info , which isn't too much to compare against...
